Ajit Mohan will step down as Snap’s chief business officer at the end of 2026. Ronan Harris, who runs Snap’s business in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, takes over global advertising sales. The change was reported on 9 September 2026.

Mohan leaves after four years, having run ads since February 2025

Mohan joined Snap four years ago. He was promoted to chief business officer in February 2025. Before Snap he was vice president and managing director of Facebook India, and chief executive of Hotstar.

He gave a personal reason. His family stayed in Singapore, and he has spent two years travelling between New York, Los Angeles and Singapore.

Ronan Harris moves up from Europe, the Middle East and Asia

Harris was president for those markets at Snap. He now takes charge of advertising sales worldwide. Reports differ on his exact new title: some say chief commercial officer, one says chief business officer. Snap has not published its own note about the change.

The handover lands during Snap’s commerce ad push

The timing matters. Snap has just opened product ads inside Chat to every advertiser and put four optimisation tools into the market. Most of them are still in beta.

Before that the company took Unified Attribution global, letting app advertisers work from outside measurement data. Both moves came out of the team Mohan built.

Snap has also been adding consumer features in the same weeks, including a group planning tool called Plans. The sales side and the product side are moving at once.

The next set of quarterly results is the first real test. They will show whether ad revenue holds up through the handover, or whether buyers pause while the new structure settles. Until then, media teams deal with the same people they dealt with last month.
