Google Ads is rolling out AI Dashboards, a reporting tool that builds a chart from a sentence typed in plain English. Paid search specialist Thomas Eccel showed the feature working in his own accounts on 8 September 2026, and two trade titles confirmed the rollout the same week.
Thomas Eccel found the dashboards in his accounts on 8 September
Eccel posted screenshots on LinkedIn. They show a new panel inside Google Ads reporting, with charts, graphs and a table. Search Engine Roundtable and Search Engine Land both wrote it up. Neither could say which accounts have it. The rollout is gradual, so many advertisers still see the old report builder.
You type the question and Gemini draws the chart
The tool runs on Gemini, Google’s AI model. You describe what you want to look at. The system then picks the numbers and the chart type for you. Google said the old way “required you to manually select metrics, dimensions, and visualizations”. Each dashboard also carries a short AI summary that tries to explain why a number moved.
Google showed the tool in May and promised the rollout in August
Google first presented the dashboards in May 2026 as a way to view, analyse and export data. In August it said the rollout would start soon. Early September is when it reached live accounts. The pace matches the rest of the year on ad platforms. Microsoft Advertising took Max CPC out of new automated campaigns, and Google added tools that count sales in physical shops.
Check the AI summary against your own numbers first
A written summary next to a chart is easy to paste into a client report. It is also a guess made by a model that only sees Google Ads data. It knows nothing about your stock levels, a late delivery or a price change on the shop side. Read the summary, then check it against your own numbers, including how your other Google tools count things. Treat it as a first draft of the explanation, not the explanation.
