Snap has rolled out Unified Attribution to every advertiser running app campaigns on Snapchat, ending a limited beta that began in May. The feature pulls conversion data from a brand’s mobile measurement partner (MMP) into Snap’s Ads Manager and, more importantly, lets Snap’s delivery algorithm optimize against that MMP-defined signal rather than its own attribution logic.
AppsFlyer and Adjust are the two partners live at launch. According to PPC Land, Snap is working to add Singular, Kochava and Branch. The tool works at campaign level for App Promotion objectives, supports install, purchase, add-to-cart and sign-up goals, and adopts the advertiser’s own attribution windows and event definitions. One caveat: the attribution method is fixed at campaign creation, so switching means rebuilding the campaign.
Snap’s beta results are the sales pitch. An unnamed real-money gaming advertiser recorded a 26% lower cost per acquisition than in SKAN-optimized campaigns. Mohegan Sun Online Casino, working with AppsFlyer, saw return on ad spend rise by almost 90% and cost per install fall sharply by week four. Marriage app Muzz, on Adjust, reported 41% more installs and 47% more sign-ups at lower unit costs, while French fintech Deblock and mobile publisher Codeway posted double-digit efficiency gains.
Why it matters
For years app marketers have lived with two sets of numbers: the platform’s own attribution, which the ad system optimizes toward, and the MMP view they actually use to allocate budgets. Bright Park, principal partner development manager at AppsFlyer, said the change means “Snap’s optimization and advertiser measurement are working from the same data.” That closes a gap that has fed distrust of platform-reported results since Apple’s privacy changes upended iOS tracking.
Snap is not alone. Meta aligned optimization with MMP measurement windows in late 2025, TikTok partnered with Kochava on real-time iOS conversions and Reddit added dual attribution in May. The pattern is the same: platforms ceding the definition of a conversion to independent vendors in exchange for advertiser confidence. Snap has a commercial reason to move fast. Its ad revenue grew 9% to $1.28 billion in the second quarter, and CEO Evan Spiegel has pointed to app and e-commerce performance advertisers as the main growth engine.
What’s next
Snap says reporting will not match MMP dashboards one to one, so advertisers should expect small discrepancies rather than identical figures. The more interesting test is whether the efficiency gains reported by a handful of beta clients hold at scale across categories where MMP signals are thinner. Adjust and AppsFlyer users can enable the option now; advertisers on other MMPs will have to wait for their integration to go live.
