Omnicom Media said on 21 September that it was awarded $3.3 billion in new billings in the first half of 2026. The group put out the claim itself, in a release built on COMvergence data.
PHD tops both COMvergence rankings, on Omnicom’s account
By the group’s own reading, PHD came first worldwide for total and for net new business. Hearts United landed in the top five for total new business and second for net. Initiative came third for net. Omnicom also gave a total new business figure of $3.15 billion, which counts wins minus losses. None of these numbers has been checked here against the underlying COMvergence report.
Adidas, IBM and On are on the global wins list
The release names Adidas, Bloomberg, IBM, Mark Anthony Brands, On and Royal Caribbean International as global assignments. Regional wins listed include Major League Soccer, Roku, SkyShowtime, Xiaomi, Netflix, Nordea Bank, Geely Auto and Grupo Lala. Netflix appears on that list in a year when Dentsu took the streamer’s EMEA media work in 22 markets.
Hearts United says it kept 69% of its H1 business
Omnicom put the Hearts United retention rate at 69%, against an industry average of 28% that it attributes to COMvergence. Florian Adamski, who runs Omnicom Media, said clients “stress-test capabilities across data, analytics, AI” (Omnicom release, English). The group has been cutting cost at the same time, and expects about 105,000 staff by the end of 2026.
Ask your own agency for its COMvergence line, not the holding group’s. The tables split total and net new business, and a group can lead one and trail the other. Ask which of the named wins are media only, and which include creative. The full-year set arrives in the first quarter.
