Google opened Search Profiles to creators and publishers in India and Canada on 6 October, according to Robby Stein, VP of Product for Google Search. He said Brazil will follow soon but gave no date. The pages first launched in the United States in June 2026.
A Search Profile is a page on Google that a creator or publisher claims and edits. It pulls together social accounts, a website, recent posts and links. Google says it helps people find “you and your work” in Search and Discover.
Google asks for 10,000 followers before a creator can claim a page
Search Engine Journal lists the entry rules. The owner must be 18 or older. They need at least 10,000 followers on one of four platforms: YouTube, Instagram, X or TikTok. They link that account at profile.google.com/claim while signed in to a Google account.
Google has not said how many profiles exist in the US after four months.
Followers of a profile may see more of its posts in Discover
The profile does not change rankings in regular search results, Search Engine Journal reports. The gain sits in Discover, the feed in the Google app and on Android phones. People who follow a profile there may see that creator’s content more often. That matters to publishers, because Google referrals to publishers fell 40.2% in a year.
The feature also fits a wider Google push to tie content to real people. Google has also called fake author profiles deception in its helpful content guide.
No European market is on Stein’s list yet
Stein named three countries and no European ones. Brands that pay creators in India, Canada or the US can now ask each partner whether they have claimed a profile and how many people follow it on Google. That number can sit next to Instagram and TikTok follower counts in the next influencer brief.
