Chicken Shop Date is ending. Amelia Dimoldenberg told her followers on Instagram on 3 September 2026 that the YouTube show will finish after more than 12 years. A last run of episodes is still to come.

Amelia Dimoldenberg announced the end on 3 September

The show began in 2014 as a column in a youth magazine. It moved to YouTube and kept one simple idea: a date in a fried chicken shop, flat questions, long silences. Dimoldenberg wrote that she thought the show “would be a part of me forever”, TheWrap reported, and that it is now time to move on.

The channel has 4.4 million subscribers and a billion views

Variety puts the channel above 4.4 million followers, with a billion views reached in its tenth year. Guests included Billie Eilish, Cher, Andrew Garfield, Central Cee and Jack Harlow. That list is the point. A show filmed in a takeaway shop became a stop on the promotional run for films, albums and tours, next to television and glossy magazines.

Dimz Inc, a rom-com and a BBC series come next

Dimoldenberg built a production company, Dimz Inc, on the back of the show, and worked as a red carpet correspondent at the Oscars. Variety lists what follows: a summer academy for young people in London, a rom-com she is writing and starring in, and a BBC series in development.

For marketers the shape is familiar. A creator builds one format, brands buy space in it, and then the creator moves up to owning the whole production. Google put money behind a single name when it signed MrBeast to promote Gemini and Fitbit. Chipotle went the other way and handed a national campaign to 100 creators. Some creators skip fees altogether, as when Markiplier became GoPro’s largest shareholder.

A brand that treated Chicken Shop Date as a media buy now has to find the next show. A brand that treated it as a working relationship with Dimoldenberg still has somewhere to go. That difference is worth checking before the next creator deal is signed.
