Google now shows business owners what its automated assistant learned about them by phone. A tab called Collected Info has appeared in the Business Profile dashboard. Search Engine Land reported the rollout on 14 September 2026.
The assistant calls or messages the number on the profile
Google’s systems ring or text the verified phone number listed on a profile. The contact can also come through WhatsApp. The assistant asks about details such as opening hours or services, then stores the answers.
Until now that exchange was invisible to the owner. The new tab lists what was gathered. In Google’s own words, owners can “review details verified by Google’s automated assistant right inside your Business Profile dashboard”.
Deleting a collected detail leaves the public profile unchanged
Owners can remove anything wrong or out of date. What they cannot do is edit the live profile from this tab. Google states plainly that deleting collected information does not change other details already on the profile.
So the tab is a review log, not an editing tool. Anyone fixing an error has to change the profile itself as well. That two-step design is easy to miss and is where mistakes will stay live.
Available in some regions, languages and categories only
Google has not named the markets. Its notice says the feature covers selected regions, languages and business categories, and may not appear for every user. No end date for the rollout was given.
The context is that machine-gathered data increasingly feeds answers people see. Google has been testing new ranking models for AI search, and it already admits its reporting cannot place a page inside an AI answer. A wrong opening hour collected by an assistant can now travel a long way.
Anyone responsible for a chain of locations can do one check this week. Open one profile per country and look for the Collected Info tab. If it is there, read the entries against the source of truth in your own systems, and remember to correct the live profile as well, because deleting the entry alone will not do it.
