Dominic Williams has become chief executive of Mail Metro Media, the advertising and commercial business for the Daily Mail and its sister newsbrands. The company announced the promotion on 1 October 2026. Chief executive is a new role at Mail Metro Media, created for Williams.
Dominic Williams moves up from chief revenue officer
Williams joined Mail Metro Media in 2017 as chief investment officer. He became chief revenue officer in 2021 and has since run the commercial side of the group’s newsbrands. Campaign has ranked him first on its list of top commercial chiefs, and he was named Media Leader of the Year at the Media Week Awards.
Vere Harmsworth, executive chairman of the Daily Mail, said Williams has the vision and commercial focus to lead the business into its next chapter. Danny Groom, chief executive and publisher of the Daily Mail, called the promotion richly deserved. Williams said he was proud to take the role.
Reach and Goalhanger are also changing how UK media sells
The company did not say when the change starts. Mail Metro Media has described itself in recent years as a modern broadcast publisher, in interviews with UK trade press.
The move comes as UK news groups fight for ad money. Reach cut 220 editorial jobs after Google traffic fell. On the same day, podcast publisher Goalhanger said it will bring all of its ad sales in-house from 2027.
Mail Metro Media has not named a new chief revenue officer. That hire will show whether the group brings in someone from outside or promotes from the sales team Williams built over the past five years.
