Formula E announced a new brand identity on 23 September. The championship says the design arrives before the Gen4 race car debuts in December 2026. MOX created the system and All Purpose Studio drew the typefaces, DesignRush reported on 25 September. Formula E puts its global fanbase at 422 million people.
MOX built the icon around a 30-degree angle
The mark leans at 30 degrees to suggest forward movement. The E reads first and the F shows up on a second look. Formula E says broadcast graphics were redrawn so numbers stay clear during a race. The same system covers a wordmark, a colour palette and motion graphics.
All Purpose Studio drew Turbo Mode and Micro Mono
The typeface family has three parts. Turbo Mode is a condensed italic used for speed. Micro Mono carries technical information. Inter handles longer copy. Matt Bolton, creative director at MOX, told DesignRush the team wanted a visual language that “feels alive”.
Other brands have redrawn their look this year too. Stella Artois became the Champions League beer partner from 2027, and Novo Nordisk dropped Nordisk from its own name.
Ellie Norman ties the change to Disney+ and 21 races
Ellie Norman, chief marketing officer at Formula E, said the old identity “represented an earlier chapter”. The 2026/27 season runs 21 races across 13 events. Formula E also has a streaming deal with Disney+, one of several paid streaming services chasing live rights. Cumulative television audience reached 561 million in 2024/25, up 14 percent.
The new look goes live with the 2026/27 season and the Gen4 car appears in December 2026. Formula E has not said when host cities and partners have to swap their own materials.
