Roblox creator payouts reached 1.5 billion dollars in 2025. That is up from 923 million dollars a year earlier. The company put the figure in its yearly economic impact report, published on 3 September.

Roblox creator payouts grew by about two thirds in a year

The money goes to people who build games and sell items inside the platform. Roblox says the work added up to almost 12,000 full-time jobs worldwide last year. In the United States it counted 7,525 of those jobs, 55 per cent more than in 2024.

Most of the people earning are working alone. Of the American creators Roblox surveyed, 83 per cent said they build on their own rather than in a studio.

Two thirds of US payments went outside tech hubs

One number stands out for anyone who thinks this money stays in San Francisco. Roblox says 444 million dollars, or 66 per cent of its American payments, went to places with fewer technology workers than average. Its creators in the United States added 752 million dollars to national output in 2025, a 69 per cent rise.

European Union creators produced 304 million euros since 2020

Roblox puts the EU contribution at 304.2 million euros between 2020 and 2025. Payouts to creators there who qualify for the programme rose 70 per cent in a year. The company also reports 46.5 million dollars from the Middle East and North Africa over the same period.

These are the platform’s own figures and its own survey, so treat them as a company argument rather than an independent count. What is harder to argue with is the direction.

Platforms compete on how they pay, not only on reach

Payment systems have become a battleground. X made X Money the only way its US creators can be paid this week, dropping Stripe. Earlier, Later folded the Mavely brand in as its creator payouts passed 300 million dollars.

For brands the useful part is who these creators are. They are not influencers with a camera. They are small developers with an audience inside one product, closer to the way Markiplier ended up as GoPro’s biggest shareholder than to a paid post. A brand that wants to reach Roblox players usually has to commission a build from one of them, agree what happens to the item afterwards, and accept that the creator keeps the audience.
