GPT-6 reaches free ChatGPT users. Answers can now include buttons, forms and charts
Paid plans got the model on 7 October, free users a day later. OpenAI says the rollout is global.

OpenAI has started giving GPT-6 to free and Go users of ChatGPT, a day after paid plans got it on 7 October. The update adds Intelligent UI, a way of answering with charts, tappable buttons, forms and small interactive tools instead of plain text. OpenAI says ChatGPT has more than 1.2 billion weekly users.
Paid plans get GPT-6 Sol, free users get GPT-6 Luna
There are two versions. Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users get GPT-6 Sol. Free and Go users get GPT-6 Luna, which Engadget describes as the less capable model. OpenAI says the rollout is global. Its announcement does not mention any limits for the EU, and it gives no usage caps.
OpenAI also says GPT-6 can start replying while it is still working out the answer. For questions that need a web search, GPT-6 Instant starts answering 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant, the company says.
OpenAI shows a bill splitter, a road trip map and a game of Snake
The examples in OpenAI’s post include a cooking timeline for a Sunday roast, a wardrobe planner and a route map with stops. There are also calculators for splitting a bill and for retirement savings. Engadget adds that one demo rebuilt the game Snake. The model decides when a visual layout helps and falls back to text when it does not.
Answers can also be split across several messages that build on each other, Engadget reports. Enterprise users get the feature only if their admins allow it.
Brand content competes with tools built inside the chat
For marketers, Intelligent UI changes what an answer looks like. A question such as “which loan should I take” can now return a working calculator inside ChatGPT. Some of those people may not click through to a bank’s own calculator page. OpenAI’s post does not say whether these interactive answers will show links, products or ads.
Ads are a separate track. OpenAI has been testing image ads in ChatGPT, and US agencies already report measurement gaps in ChatGPT ads.
The sites most exposed are those whose traffic comes from simple tools: loan and savings calculators at banks, trip planners at travel sites, and recipe timers at food publishers. OpenAI gains the time those users would have spent on them.
