BT will relaunch BT TV in the UK on 15 October, the company said on 1 October. In recent years BT had steered new TV customers to EE TV, the service of its mobile brand. The relaunch completes what BT calls the revival of its own name for consumers, ISPreview reported.
BT Mobile came back earlier in 2026, and now TV follows
BT brought back BT Mobile earlier this year. With BT TV, the company says it now has a joined-up offer across broadband, TV and mobile under one brand. Reuters described the move as the completion of a historic brand revival.
The BT name left TV sport three years ago. BT Sport became TNT Sports in July 2023, after a joint venture with Warner Bros Discovery agreed in May 2022, Advanced Television noted.
BT TV Box Pro records more than 600 hours
Customers will be able to choose between two boxes. The BT TV Box Pro streams, pauses and rewinds live TV and records more than 600 hours. The BT TV Box Edge is a smaller box without recording. The service combines live channels, live sport and streaming apps. BT did not give prices. ISPreview links the offer to the EE TV packages refreshed in September.
Luciano Oliveira, managing director for products at BT Consumer, said finding something to watch “shouldn’t mean navigating a maze of apps”.
BT puts one name on broadband, TV and mobile
Big groups often have to choose how far one name should stretch. PepsiCo, for example, let Cheetos and Quaker pitch for the company name. BT is betting on its own name in a market where eight in ten UK TV owners already stream on the set.
From 15 October, new BT broadband customers can add TV under the same name for the first time in years. Who gains depends on that bundle: BT keeps its customers inside one brand, while EE TV loses its role as the default for them.
