Cookies

What cookies are

Small text files a site stores in your browser. They remember settings, count visits and help select advertising. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, and treat them here in exactly the same way.

Do we ask for consent

Yes. A consent banner appears on your first visit. Until you decide, only strictly necessary files are active and analytics and advertising tools stay blocked. Your choice is stored for 365 days and you can change it at any time.

What we use

Strictly necessary

Always active. Without them the site cannot remember your consent choice or keep a session running.

Name Set by Purpose Duration
cmplz_banner-status, cmplz_consented_services, cmplz_statistics, cmplz_marketing, cmplz_policy_id marketingnewsroom.com Remembering your choice in the consent banner 365 days
PHPSESSID marketingnewsroom.com Keeping the server session until the browser closes
wordpress_logged_in_*, wp-settings-* marketingnewsroom.com Editorial login, editors only up to 12 months

Analytics

Loaded only after consent. They show how many people read the site and which articles. We do not link this data to your name or email address.

Name Set by Purpose Duration
_ga Google Analytics Telling repeat visits from the same device apart 2 years
_ga_CTCHF2J1C9 Google Analytics Keeping the measurement session state 2 years

Advertising

Loaded only after marketing consent. They relate to Google advertising, which starts with monetisation of the site. Without consent ads still appear, they are simply not tailored to your interests.

Name Set by Purpose Duration
__gads, __gpi Google Ad selection and frequency capping up to 13 months
_gcl_au Google Measuring advertising performance 90 days
IDE, NID doubleclick.net, google.com Ad personalisation up to 13 months

Functional

They support the newsletter form, for instance so it stops appearing to someone who has already subscribed.

Name Set by Purpose Duration
Hostinger Reach files hostinger.com Running the newsletter sign-up form up to 12 months

Changing or withdrawing consent

Use the link below to reopen the consent settings and change your choice.

You can also delete and block cookies in your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking the necessary ones means the consent banner will appear on every visit.

What happens if you decline

The site works as usual. We simply will not see which articles are being read, and advertising will be untargeted rather than tailored. We never withhold content because you declined.
